Wednesday.

I couldn't think of a witty title for this.  Don't worry, this won't be a vent!  Well, unless something freakish happens while I'm writing this!

Yesterday's run was ugly.  Bad ugly.  I was feeling a bit run down, had missed a few days the week before due to my non-stop migraine, and was generally not in the mood for a run.  It showed.  Those were the longest 3.3 miles of my life.  Okay, the longest 3.3 of the month.  I'm sure other runs will feel just as horrid.

So today I decided to just do the little 2 miles that take me to the Y and back.  Can I tell you just how humid it was when I left at 5:30 this morning?!  And it was already 73 degrees.  I was sweating before I took my first step!  Most mornings, instead of music, I have some podcasts on my iPod.  This morning I was listening to Gordon from Running to Disney.   I listened to the episode where he recapped his Disney marathon experience.  He ran the marathon in January when I was there running the 5K with Mary.  It was so cool to listen to him talk about it, because I remember being there at that time!  Plus, I think he's as much of a Disney freak as I am.  Hmmm....is that possible?  So there I am, it's around 5:45 and I'm running while listening to his podcast.  He starts telling the story about when he realized he was going to finish the race and then how he got so emotional when he saw his family at the finish line.  By this time, I'm running and crying, and remembering the finish line at our race.  Then I'm crying even more when he says that his son left him a voice mail message about 1/2 way through the race saying "Go Daddy, Go."  It's not easy to see where you are going when your eyes are flooded with tears!  I'm glad I didn't wipe out.

So thank you, Gordon, for making my run more enjoyable this morning, and for making me cry.  I would give my right arm to go run in Disney again.

Awwww! How sweet! That does sound like a great running experience. I hope that you can make the next marathon @ Disney. You deserve it and it makes you so very happy.
